WHY DOES STORED DIESEL FUEL NEED MAINTENANCE?
Stored diesel fuel begins to degrade the day it is refined. If no management programs exist, rapid diesel fuel degradation begins in as little as 30 days of delivery to a fuel storage tank. As part of the degrading process microbial organisms begin to grow and compromise the characteristics and integrity of the stored diesel fuel. All fuel requires maintenance to sustain long term reliability and should be included in your annual NFPA required preventative maintenance schedule.

I HAVE A BUILT IN FUEL POLISHING SYSTEM, DO I STILL NEED TO MANAGE MY FUEL SUPPLY?
A built in fuel polishing system is only one piece of a quality fuel management program. Fuel polishing systems only remove particulate and do not encompass the entire contents of the diesel fuel storage tank. Patriot Clean Fuel’s management program provides a turn-key solution to all needs.

WHAT ARE COMMON ISSUES FOUND WITH STORED DIESEL FUEL?
Patriot Clean Fuel finds many issues during our initial inspection of the stored diesel fuel. Common issues found are large amounts of water, microbial growth, particulate contamination, fuel degradation and foreign contamination.
WHY WOULDN’T I JUST EMPTY THE CONTENTS OF MY VESSEL AND REPLACE WITH NEW FUEL?
Extracting the contents of the vessel will remove the particulate and potential water contamination; however, many vessels have limited access and cannot be disinfected properly. Microbial contamination will remain in the tank and degrade the “new” fuel introduced into the vessel at a much faster rate.
